Last week, we celebrated Harmony Day. Harmony Day is celebrated on the 21st of March each year and is a day to celebrate all of the different cultures that are in Australia. This year, we celebrated Harmony Day by dressing up and wearing our national dress. In our class, we are lucky to have students from all over the world!

Nitro Circus Comes to Moonah!

nitro 1

Yesterday at 1:00, the Nitro Circus came to visit Moonah Primary! We won a competition that was held by HOFM radio station. We won because our school shows good community spirit. We went and sat on the netball court to watch the performance. The men on BMX bikes did lots of flips and the skatboarder jumped onto our bench and rode over it! We had lots of fun watching their tricks. Ari from Grade 3 even got to go up and lie down on the ground and some of the bikers jumped over him! After the show was over, some of us got their signatures. They even gave out some hats, stickers, DVDs and t-shirts. That night, we were on the news. It was an awesome day!

Investigations: Dramatic Play

During investigations, we can go to the dramatic play area. At the moment, our dramatic play area is a beachside ice-cream parlour.

parlour 1

At the ice-cream parlour, we use pretend money to buy ice-creams. We make the ice-creams together and keep our customers happy! We share the jobs- sometimes we are the shopkeeper and sometimes we are the customer!

Today at the ice-cream parlour, Destiny is deciding which kind of ice-cream she wants to buy and Claire is ordering her ice-cream! The ice-creams are cheaper than they were last week. The shopkeepers are making delicious ice-creams. They make them by reading the ingredients.

The best thing about the ice-cream parlour is that we are always happy when we play there. We love making the ice-creams and putting them in the cones.
